9-11 Jumpers

9-11 Jumpers

Disturbing was the first word that came to mind. Witnessing the video of human beings falling from a hundred stories in the sky and then slamming into the ground. Then they remain there, lifeless. The video also has a song playing in the background and the lyrics of the song include "someone to catch me" which while it was suppose to add to the emotion of the video it actually might make some see the video in a negative light. This is because the song is just a common song with one line that is apropriate to the video. That line also only having to do with the falling people and not about the peoples lives.

War

War

The video which no matter how you view it is centered around war but without the audio soundtrack playing over it could be able the atrocities of war, the needlessness of it, or the glory of war. However the editor added in the song War and that completely solidifies the meaning of the video. The video portrays people in war under the worst of circumstances and the video then highlites these moments with the line "war, what's it good for. Absolutely nothing!"

PS3

PS3

The PS3 commercial advertisement which many of us have seen on television is a well crafted video entising the viewer to purchase the PS3. The video highlites some of the many impressive video games currently released on the PS3. Playing over the course of the video is an intense song that at times asks "do you wanna?...do you needa" over and over clearly asking the viewer. Do you want to be a part of all the fun taking place? Do you need something to take your mind off the struggles of everyday life?

Ernesto "Che" Guevara

Ernesto "Che" Guevara

The video goes through Guevaras life with a series of photos and slides with quotes from his life. There is a very mellow sorrowful melody also playing in the background. Having watched through the entire video one ends with a very down feeling and a feeling of idolization for Guevara though the video was only a few minutes and his whole history could (and was) not even close to displayed.

Hitman Trailer

Hitman Movie Trailer

The video is an advertisement for the movie Hitman and as far as appeal goes it does a very good job introducing the viewer to highlights of the film. With a epic feeling soundtrack playing over the video you get the feeling that whoever this 47 is he must be doing someone worthwhile and righteous because with the very grand music you also have many religious implications put forth in the video itself. This combination portrays the video in a light that makes the many killings you see in the video as something justifiable and needed.

Jane Fonda returns to Broadway after four decades

http://news.yahoo.com/s/nm/20081104/people_nm/us_newyork_broadway_fonda;_ylt=AlI0.u.Bd_pdY1q_u60CI6pxFb8C

Michelle Nicols

Well Fonda fans she's back and returning to broadway. According to Reuturs, at least, and she will be preforming in "33 Variations". This is obviously geared towards any fan of Jane Fonda because they will likely flock to that show and therefore increase its sales. Lucky them. Some people however will see this as just a simple public annoucement of an old star returning to an old venue. Sadly it's news like this that we all hear about and see but miss out on the importance of things going on around the world. It's a sad world we live in.

McCain camp trying to scapegoat Palin

http://news.yahoo.com/s/politico/15073

by Roger Simon

McCain has been slacking in the polls and here we have another anti-McCain article. Not saying there is any possible correlation. Much of the article just ridicules McCain for many poor decisions mainly his choice of VP in the presidential race. First and foremost thing to look at in this article is the writer Roger Simon who as it turns out is a deeply accomplished journalist who has won several awards and in laymens terms is a man who has done his homework on issues. While Mr. Simons oppinion is clearly shown he does so in a stylish and creative manner poking fun at many sides. Obviously the article was geared towards democrats who enjoyed humor in the news or any well humored person not in support of McCain. The only real point in this message is to point fun at some of the absurdities of McCains choices as would be seen by the Democrats.
